Music x Fashion x Dinh - Hanisch

Dinh - Hanisch is described as laid-back graphical urban fashion with the fresh and quirky spirit of the girls. The collection 'Emerald' is inspired by the majestic stones but in all their rawness, just being extracted from granite (...) ready to be cut into sparkling jewels.

One of these girls is actually my dear friend Anh from tha.darlinh. She had her very first fashion show this thursday during Berlin Fashion Week A/W'14 at the event: Music meets Fashion. DJs were playing, upcoming and newcomer designers were showing. And this was superduper-exciting for her because she just had her first semester as a fashion student and in only one month, she and her friend Sarah were asked to create a small collection. Anh is really talented and I think I don't have to say more, but: I love the combination of sporty-chic and my favorite pieces are the short dress and the vest beneath in black and seagreen.

Lovely pieces and beautiful designers,
happy faces and talents to watch out for!

Impressions Berlin Fashion Week A/W 2014 #3

On the 3rd day of Berlin Fashion Week I was able to visit the Ethical Fashion Show and the Green Showroom, which showcased eco fashion and fair-trade clothing. I was really interested in these because I am longing for more eco-friendly clothes, which are stylish and unique. So, here are some lovely brands I really liked and found most interesting.

Khogy is a fishy brand :) Why? Their beautiful bags and shoes are made from leather, but it's a special kind. Can you guess what it is? Maybe from the color you will.. It's actually TUNA! Haha, yes, I kind of like tuna, but should eat less and think about the ocean more and more. This is what the designers behind Khogy want to do, they want to remind us of the ocean and the leather industry. Due to the demand of tuna fish, the skin is thrown away, so Khogy designers thought: why not use it and make clothing instead? So there will be less waste. Really love this idea and the design is nice, too. Very natural, very summery and if you like fish scent (not too bad), these handbags should be your new accessory for summer outfits :) And.. handmade with love ♥

Do you know the brand or bags from ABURY? Not yet? Well, I haven't heard of them until a few weeks ago when I strolled through an eco-fashion onlineshop selling Abury handbags. They are also handmade and have a more vintage, handcrafted look with a unique embellishment on the front.
Abury supports projects held in Morocco giving assistance to the Berber women to earn a living in their villages in the surroundings of Marrakesh. The scope is to create a guideline directed to social brands with an aim to ethical design in developing and underdeveloped countries.
The handbags beneath are a collaboration between the masters graduate Mayta Lara Leal and Abury. She wanted a more modern, geometrical look and designed them for the next collection coming up in April :) Love the bright colors and the fact that they tried to reduce chemicals, so the leather is vegetable-tanned. The bags are also super-practical and are made for everyday-use. The perfect Uni-backpack I guess.. ;-)

n.u.s.k. is a new brand in the eco-fashion world and comes from Spain. I was very interested in the vests because they are very minimalistic and wearable. I loved the soft fabrics and I've found out that they use recycled or up-cycled, raw ecological fibres to create these pieces. I'm curious and look forward for more. We'll see. Are you guys into eco-fashion?

Impressions Berlin Fashion Week A/W 2014 #2

Neff Beanies x Sunglasses x Backpacks

On the 2nd day of the Berlin Fashion Week A/W 2014, I was happy to be invited to the Bright x Tradeshow, one of the biggest streetwear, sneaker and boardsport fair in Germany. Big brands like Nixon, Burton, Vans etc. are showing what they have in store for the next season, but also smaller brands from around the globe want to introduce their labels to get in touch with retailers, stylists and press people. So, I was really curious about this fair because I couldn't make it in the summer and I was looking forward to new sneaker trends, but also cool labels.

Puma Sneakers

Neff had interesting designs in their backpacks, but also funny beanies to add to their collection of snow-and sportswear. I'm not sure yet about these big prints on backpacks, sweaters and all-clothing yet, what do you think? Are you digging photo-prints in clothes? :) But I guess, it's really cool when you're in the middle of powder, wearing colors and prints ;-) When I walked by the Puma booth, I had to take a shot of the geometrical framing of the sneakers, love the idea of presenting them like this!

Subspecies, Brooklyn, NY

Of course, I've also had my eyes on clothes coming from my favorite city New York :) And Yes! There were a couple of smaller brands presenting their stuff, but I liked the shirts and caps from Subspecies the most because they are colorful, working with prints, patterns and the unique subway-signs from the streets of the city. Nixon is bringing out more of their stylish watches and see what I've found, the perfect birthday-present for 2014, I think :) why? Gold to green? duuh =D

Nixon Watches

Last but not least, I've discovered something called BRTN. Very irritated but definitely interested I've stepped on the booth and looked at the clean cut clothes in black and grey shades. I really liked them because the fabric was supersoft as well! A sales representative came up to me and told me that this is a new line from Burton. Stupid me =D Yes! Kinda crazy right? But amazing I think, because they are opening up for more streetwear adding up to their traditional sportswear. Really curious what more they are coming up with :) Will let you know about the line then ;-) And stay tuned for more impressions from this season's Berlin Fashion Week!

Impressions Berlin Fashion Week A/W 2014 #1

This year is the first time that I am attending Berlin Fashion Week for my own personal blog because I have already been there the last two times. The first time, January 2013, I volunteered for IMG and did some dressing and seating inside of the Mercedes-Benz-Tent behind the Brandenburger Tor. The second time was in the summer, July 2013, during my internship at LesMads.

Therefore I am pretty excited and glad, that I received some invitations to attend a few shows and fairs :) A few days before I was thinking about getting a haircut, but wanted something new and after strolling and actually stalking Chriselle Lim, I've definitely wanted them shorter. Remember my last haircut? :)

I've made a last-minute appointment at Theo's again and did it :) :) :) What do you think about my NEW HAIR? :) Yes, selfie from Instagram ;-) I'm not used to it yet, but I like it ♥ so different!

After this haircut, I've met some old friends from the very first fashion week Jan. 2013 and was really delighted to see them again, we've spent the day  together and you should definitely check out Fabienne's and Shari's Fashionblogs, too!

The three of us attended the shows of women's wear label Rebekka Ruétz and men's wear label Marc Stone. Stay tuned for a short review of Rebekka Ruétz :)

Right after Marc Stone's show, we had some dinner at Vapiano and then headed over to the Blogger's Bazaar Berlin. What's that? Well-known bloggers from Berlin went through their closets and sold many of their clothes to us :) It was a flea-market from bloggers like Mia from Heylilahey or Julia from Floralpunk and everyone could buy their clothes, a great idea to shop mindfully. So, did I shop?

Well, when I saw the beautiful necklaces and earrings Julia sold.. I just had to give in. I wasn't sure about how to deal with 2nd-hand clothes and presents from my dear ones yet, so I've figured, I just go to that Blogger Bazaar with my friends and see how it will turn out. Strolling through the clothes, I didn't see anything which I really really liked, but wasn't in a shopping mood either because I was carrying so much on my shoulders. I was really indecisive about the jewelry and had a bit of a bad conscious, but in the end, I gave in. Why? Because they are so unique, I've never seen them before anywhere else and I really like the edge. What do you think? :)

My boyfriend liked them, too, but I still wasn't sure.. Is this a cheat now?? Hmm.. he gave me the money and considered it as a present. That's okay, I guess? ;-) Check out Floralpunk's website and see what else they have, cannot wait to wear them ♥ oh and stay tuned for more Impressions of this Berlin Fashion Week!

xoxo,
Minh

Mindful Monday: Wishcraft by Barbara Sher

Today's Mindful Monday post is a small insight into the Book Preview: How to get what you really want. Wishcraft is the actual, bigger book for how to discover and to realize dreams and professional aims. Both are written by career advisor, life coach and author Barbara Sher. When I first received this book by a dear friend as a birthday present, I wasn't sure about this. Because I thought that I definitely kinda know what I want in life, but she meant it in a positive way and thought that it might help me to focus better.

Indeed, when I was studying for exams, I took a break from blogging, but also couldn't resist to dive into this book and read it. It has four main chapters and is divided into: an Introduction, Wanted: My own Personal Style, Wanted: My own Personal Dream Goal and Dream Goal Found - What Now?

First, it will tell you that it is never too late to change the route you're on and that you ARE able to follow your dreams. Now, I will give you a few examples of the specialties of this book. It has a few exercises with which you will learn so much about yourself and your dreams.

Wanted: My own Personal Style

Pick a colour:
You have to spontanuously pick a colour and describe it as being the colour yourself :)

Mine turned out like this:
I am green because I am happy and vital,
I am full of hope and I love to grow like a plant.
I am green because green means life.
I live from water, earth and air.
Green means nature.
I am green so therefore I am happy, easygoing and cool :)

20 Things you love to do:
This one was actually REALLY hard
because when you're at number 12 you're like.. hmm..
okay, what else do I like to do? =D

An ideal day:
Imagine yourself that all your bills are paid and you don't have to take care of anything, imagine the perfect day:
...
It does not matter how old you'll be then,
just pick any day with family, friends, the perfect job, whatsoever.

I really like this exercise because it makes you think of
how you can get closer to your dream day.

Wanted: My own Personal Dream Goal

Be precise with your goal.

How to set up your goal and how to live it one by one, at the same time or alternating.

Dream Goal Found - What Now?

The last chapter talks about Ups and Downs.

I promise, in only two hours you'll know more about yourself and what you really want and need in your life to achieve the things you've always wanted to do. For me, it opened up my eyes and for example I know that I do not need a lot of money to do the 20 things I love and like, except from travelling ;-) And now I am working towards my ideal day and want to embrace my green side more and more, always staying vital, happy and alive. So, if you're interested, try this book and it will enligthen your life :)

Happy new week xo!

Food Friday: Raw x Vegan Oatmeal

Today, I just wanted to give you a small update of my everyday breakfast: the oatmeal :) It started in the U.S. with the homemade oatmeal from the stove. Whenever we were busy, it had to be the packaged one. Back in Germany again, I've did it with some milk and the microwave and tried out adding other ingredients like dark chocolate squares :-P Later, I left the microwave and the dairy. Instead I added hot green tea to my oatmeal, yes! Try it, it's delicious ;-)

And now, throughout the summer I went all raw and vegan, how?

Ingredients:
1 banana, oats and/or crunchy oats, chia seeds, linseed oil, nuts, additional fruits (apple, kiwi, slices of oranges, berries).

Utensil: a fork and a knife.

Slice the banana and mash it up with the fork in a bowl, add some oats, add two to three tablespoon of chia seeds (prepare the night before with clear water), add the nuts (I love ALMONDS), two teaspoons of linseed oil and slice up some additional fruit, mix it all up and have an oatmeal party :)

Haha, well, there you go, you'll have an amazing start for your tummy and it's raw, vegan, healthy, delicious, filling, what else do you want? :) And no worries, it won't be too dry because of the chia and the oil, add some more if you want ;-)
